Rêve’s Favorite Local Sips
There’s something about fall in Maine that makes a coffee or tea run feel a little more special. A crisp morning, a cozy sweatshirt, maybe a Rêve class first — and a really good drink waiting for you after.
So, in the spirit of cozy season, we asked a few of our instructors where they’re stopping for coffee, tea, matcha, and all the fall things around Portland.
Here’s what they’re sipping:
Tandem Coffee + St. Joe’s Coffee — Jillian’s Picks
Jillian couldn’t choose just one — and we don’t blame her.
In Portland, Tandem Coffee is her go-to. Her usual order is simple and classic: a hot dark roast or Americano. But if there’s a blueberry roast involved? She’s getting it.
If she’s venturing outside Portland, St. Joe’s Coffee in Scarborough takes the top spot.
And now that fall is officially here, there’s one more drink entering the rotation: pumpkin spice everything for the foreseeable future. As it should.
Scratch Baking Co. — Ann’s Pick
For Ann, it’s about more than just the coffee.
Her favorite stop is Scratch Baking Co. in South Portland, where the warm, welcoming atmosphere is just as much a part of the experience as the drinks — and, of course, you can’t leave without something from the bakery case.
Her order? A vanilla iced latte with oat milk.
Cozy season does not have to mean hot drinks only.
Bread & Friends + Onggi — Two Must-Try Sips for Leah
Why choose between coffee and matcha when you can have both?
The Morning Bun Latte from Bread & Friends is a Leah’s favorite when you want something that feels extra cozy and fall-ish.
And for the matcha lovers: the strawberry matcha from Onggi is a must. The only rule? It has to be iced. 🥶
The Proper Cup — Amanda’s Pick
Close to the studio, consistently good, and extra cozy — The Proper Cup is Amanda’s go-to.
She loves the warm and inviting space, the lovely people behind the counter, and the fact that they keep things simple while doing them really well. Their syrups are made in-house, and Amanda especially appreciates that their standard 16 oz espresso drink comes with three shots — no extra-shot request necessary. 😉 Her orders of choice are a vanilla oat milk latte or an iced Americano.
Bonus points for being the perfect distance from Rêve for a little post-class coffee walk.
