Our Newest Cycling Instructor: Amber Allen

Meet Amber, the newest cycling instructor at Rêve, whose journey from fields to friendships, heartbreak to healing, is as captivating as a summer breeze. We recently got to sit down with Amber and hear her story about discovering Rêve and how she found her rhythm within the wheels of change.

Where the Journey Begins: Home is Where the Heart Is

Amber's story starts under the big skies of West Texas, takes a pit stop in Maryland, and finally finds its place amidst the serene landscapes of Maine. But it's in the latter that her roots run the deepest, where generations of her family have tread before her. Her childhood playground was a sprawling field connecting her home to her grandparents', an idyllic "Maine-esque" experience that has woven the very essence of the state into her being.

Life has a curious way of guiding us towards the unexpected, often through the most unconventional paths. For Amber, that path was the spin class at Rêve. What started as a single class – an experiment that felt like "torture" – turned into a haven during a time of healing. Following a breakup, she found solace and camaraderie in the studio. Yet, it wasn't just the high-energy classes that kept her coming back, it was the friendships that blossomed within those four walls. From remedy to a saving grace, Rêve became a constant through life's rollercoaster.

Amber's class is a symphony of her eclectic taste in music and her deep-rooted desire to uplift others. With influences from her parents' impeccable music choices and her own '90s nostalgia, each class becomes a musical journey down memory lane. A guarantee she offers? You'll always know and probably sing along to at least one song during her class.

But it's not just about the music. Amber's classes are about shedding egos, tapping into personal strengths, and embracing confidence. The cycle becomes a metaphor for life, a place to build resilience that transcends the studio, transforming us into stronger versions of ourselves.

Outside the studio, Amber is the heart and soul of Sim City Golf in Westbrook, her winter sanctuary. Behind the bar, setting up simulators, or reveling in the game, her life takes on a different rhythm. Golf is a year-round affair for her, a passion that fuels her days and nights. But it's not just about sports – hiking claims its rightful place in her heart. Her aspiration to conquer the AMC Four Thousand Footers is a testament to her determination

Amber's journey, intertwined with Rêve and the life she lives outside of it, is an embodiment of gratitude and representation. A rider turned instructor, her anticipation to share her love for spinning with the world is palpable. Every pedal, every class, every moment is an opportunity for her to bridge the gap between the studio and the world, to bring her experience and energy to everyone who steps into her realm.

In a world that sometimes spins too fast, Amber's story reminds us to slow down, to sing along with life's tunes, and to pedal through both challenges and joys. So, clip in and embark on this journey with Amber each Friday at noon. We can’t wait to see you at the studio!
